From Struggles to Success: Anderson’s Journey with Empowerment Echo Foundation

"I never thought I’d smile again, but here I am, thanks to Empowerment Echo Foundation, I not only have a goat, but I have hope"

Anderson had already faced the usual livelihood challenges many young people in Tharaka-Nithi County experience in life. Every day was a struggle until he came across The Empowerment Echo Foundation.

When Anderson joined the foundation’s Tujiinue initiative, he was taught basic agricultural skills and provided with maize seeds to plant and other farm inputs. With careful thought, the guidance of EEF Facilitators, and the profit he got from the maize, Anderson decided to invest in a young female goat.

“I chose a goat because it’s low maintenance and can quickly multiply,” he said with a proud smile.
That single goat has marked the beginning of Anderson’ journey to financial independence.

“I never thought I’d smile again, but here I am, thanks to Empowerment Echo Foundation, I not only have a goat, but I have hope.”
